October 28th:

This baby was sleeping in a vehicle when we were told the owner didn’t have anywhere to stay.

Upon closer inspection we could hear his wheezing and were worried about what was going on with his health. We weren’t necessarily at the point to take in another at this moment but we knew this little boy was sick.

Within an hour of being in our care we took him straight to the vet. She confirmed as suspected he was full of hookworms and tapeworms. Visually, it was apparent he was covered in fleas, but he is also experiencing anemia from both the fleas and slew of other parasites. The wheezing upon closer inspection, is potentially from ….a bruised lung. He is on medication for these issues and hoping and predicting his lung will heal overtime.

Despite how crappy he’s feeling he is trying his best to be a playful puppy and explore. He is literally the snuggliest baby.

He could use your well wishes that he gets better in no time!

Your monetary donations continue to help us say “yes” to cases like these and literally every single dollar have such a huge direct impact in their care. Most rescues run off of donations and a occasional grant here and there. Without you all, we wouldn’t be able to help. You literally keep these babies going!

If you’d like to send him a gift picked out personally, it can be mailed to:

November 22nd:

Lucas is doing so well! He is finally feeling like a bouncing, happy puppy and is so much fun! He loves playing with toys but after a couple minutes tires and would rather just lay with you. Do you blame him? He knows he is such a handsome sweetheart and easily steals your heart with all those puppy kisses…

He had a another checkup Friday and received his first round of puppy shots. He is no longer anemic, his lungs sound clear and we are happy that they are healed! He will get another set of shots in a couple of weeks, will be neutered in December…and will be ready for his forever home!

If you know someone who would give him the love and attention he deserves, tag them in this post or reach out to us at finallyhomehaven@gmail.com for an adoption application!
