Neytiri is hanging in there and continues to show just how sweet and gentle she is, even while living with significant pain. Despite everything she’s endured, her calm and trusting nature shines through, and it’s impossible not to love her.

We recently had a farrier come out to evaluate her hooves. Because Neytiri is dealing with severe white line disease, only very minimal trimming could be done at this stage. The farrier carefully shortened the toe on her back hooves just slightly, as the priority right now is treating the disease without causing additional pain or making her lame. The white line has eaten deep into the center and heel of her hooves, creating painful crevices in the frog and central area that require daily, hands-on treatment. Neytiri is currently receiving daily medication to treat the white line disease, along with pain management to keep her as comfortable as possible. Treating the affected areas is understandably painful for her, but she continues to tolerate care with remarkable patience!

We are now awaiting her vet appointment on the 28th, when the vet will be able to give us a clearer picture of the full extent of her injuries. That visit will help guide how her future trims can be adjusted to better support her comfort and mobility. For now, we continue managing her pain, treating the infection, and doing everything we can to keep her stable until we have more answers.
